Booker T. Washington said . . .
"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs....There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who do not want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."
Could he possibly have had premonitions about people such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

HEAT and HUMIDITY
It has been over 90 for a high temp for a few days, now. With the humidity, the heat index has been around 105. I don't recall it being like this in recent history in our area.
My doctor has put me on Nexium for a while. I've been having some severe heartburn, to the point that I thought I might be having a heart attack. Fortunately for me that is not the case. I should be better very soon.

Rebel
We had to take Rebel to the vet, today. He was coughing up some blood this morning, and he's lost quite a bit of weight. The vet thinks that it's related to the heartworm treatment he's undergoing. The vet took some blood for a test, and found that he's got quite a bit of inflamation throughout his body. We are treating him with steroids, antibiotics, and vitamins. The vet thinks he'll survive.

Just sitting around watching time pass . . .
at work. It's a bit slow, so I thought I'd drop in and make an entry, since it's been a little while.
Getting back into the swing of 'working a job' is certainly interesting.
