Booker T. Washington said . . .

"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs....There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who do not want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

Could he possibly have had premonitions about people such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

When cats attack

Shirley was bathing a cat on Saturday, and it went a little crazy toward the end of the groom. It bit Shirley's finger. Here are some shots.

    Just switched

I'm still alive, and I just switched to the new Blogger Beta. I hope it works out well, because ya can't go back to the old one. It does seem to have some nice features, including "post labels".

We'll see how well it works.

    Finally! Another fugitive

It's been a while, as business has been slow, but I got a case day-before-yesterday, and captured him earlier this morning.

    Holiday World pictures

As I mentioned in a post yesterday, we went to Holiday World and Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana. We had a great time. I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked, but here's what I shot.

As with most of the pictures on my blog, you can click on them for a larger version.

    Interesting day.

Ratte, one of Jessica's rats, was sleeping on a high-shelf in his cage. He rolled over, fell off the ledge, and landed in his empty food bowl. He just slept there for about 15 minutes more, as if nothing happened.

It was also 'haircut' day for Len. About once a year or so, I get a hair cut.

    Holiday World

Jessica hasn't asked to do anything all summer except to go to Holiday World and Surfin' Safari in Santa Claus, IN. So, yesterday, we went. We had a FANTASTIC time. Of course, the pictures will be here, shortly.

    Some eyeball shots

Had a little eye aggrevation that I thought would be interesting to post in here. Of course, this might not be for the squeamish.

    Its what I do . . .

I had an interesting experience today, at work (working at a regular job, not the bounty hunting). I work for a retailer, which is located next to a grocery store. I was working outside, and heard a great deal of noise behind me. Then, I heard a woman yelling, "Stop him! Stop him!" I turned around to find some mexican guy, about 18 or 19, running from the grocery store pushing a cart FULL of groceries. The woman was a cashier who had followed him out of the store, and she yelled for someone to stop him, again. Being the responsible citizen that I am, what else could I do? I gave chase.
Now, I'm not saying the guy was stupid, but it's very difficult to flea while pushing a loaded shopping cart. He looked back and saw that I was fast approaching. He ditched the cart, and picked up his pace. He ran off into an apartment complex. I recovered the shopping cart. The cashier came down and took the cart back to the store, and I went about my business.
Later in the day, a manager from the grocery store came over to thank me for my actions, and to tell me that there was over $400 in groceries and merchandise in that cart. She was very appreciative. I simply told her that it's just what I do.
