Booker T. Washington said . . .

"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs....There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who do not want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

Could he possibly have had premonitions about people such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

Best Buy messes up . . . but won't own up.

The pictures below were taken today at the Best Buy on east Washington street in Indianapolis, Indiana. As you can see, it shows the same item (Pinnacle Studio 11 Plus) at 2 different prices. When I pressed two department managers and the general manager (Tony Figueora) to sell it to me at the lower price, I was told that I couldn't have it at the lower price. Now, I can understand how a multi-billion dollar big box such as Best Buy might go bankrupt over honoring a price difference of $50, can't you? So, I figure I'll get at least $50 worth of satisfaction by spreading the word of the greediness of Best Buy to those who will hear it.

Now, I did try to get a resolution from the Best Buy District 14 office. After I talked with the "office manager", Shannon, she told me that she would call the store general manager handle the issue. Before we hung up, I told her that Tony has a history of treating me as if I'm some sort of sub-customer, and that he will argue, and that I would be calling her back. Remarkably, when I called her back after being denied by Tony, she had left the office for the day. Didn't see that coming, did ya?

By the way, the phone number to Best Buy that I dealt with is 317-897-3941.
