Booker T. Washington said . . .
"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs....There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who do not want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."
Could he possibly have had premonitions about people such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

Car fire
I was getting gas at a local Thornton station. I had just finished with my purchase when the van on the other side ofthe stop caught on fire. After a bit of difficulty finding a fire extinguisher, I put the fire out. Apparently, the fire had something to do with a critter that had made it's home under the hood of the van. The van was from a nearby car rental agency, and the attendant had brought it down to fill it with gas. The fire didn't start until the van had a full thank. What a bummer! Fortunately, no one was injured, and the damage was minor.

My baby got her license!
Jessica got her driver's license, today. I'm so proud of her, but it's also another sign of time slipping away.
Cross dresser facing the cam
We were eating in a local Applebee's, and my daughter noticed that a crossdresser had sat down behind me . . .
